Dear Applicant,

I herewith present you a youtube, which discloses some small hints, how an application should be set up. If you address the recruiter with his name, you come across more sympathetic and professional and you raise more interest. Eventhough all my coordinates are listed on www.jobs.ch and on my website, I still have to face around 80% of applicants who address me with Dear Sir, Dear Recruiter or Dear Madam. We are living in a time, where time has become precious and people are turning in cycles. It  takes a candidate only two seconds to screen a name and put it on the mail. An appllication letter with a personal touch might build bridges and open more chances to you. It is crucial to keep the fire burning, which means to keep the reader's interest.

If a company invites a candidate to submit applications by mail it is wise to do so. If you send your CV by post as a paper document, it costs you more money to prepare a document and it ends up being thrown into the shredder box. This might be a reason for turning down your CV. Be attentive what the company wants you to do and follow this rules accordingly, as you want something from them and you have to consider, that there are a lot of candidates on the market, especially during rough times.

I suggest, watch out and dedicate more time to details, while submitting your CV. You might be surprised by the changes of reactions.

I wish you good luck.

Susanna Kley
